Kunye Massage & Therapies

Experience total relaxation that prevents disease and brings immediate pain and stress relief while balancing the elements of your body.

I highly recommend the experience of Kunye Massage. It is different from Western approaches, because it’s based on techniques that have been practiced for thousands of years in Tibet that stimulate specific energy points and channels within our body. As someone who has experienced both Western and Kunye approaches, I can say that I feel greater well-being and more at peace after Kunye massage.

Kunye is a unique method that synthesizes all the knowledge of Traditional Tibetan Medicine. Imagine caring hands giving you a nice relaxing massage, suited individually for your health condition. Cooling lavender and sandalwood or warming ginger and nutmeg? Even the type of herbs we use in our handmade oil matters when it comes to the personalization of the treatment.

Our treatments draw upon various techniques based on your individual needs with a holistic health approach: herbal oil massage, point therapies, cold and hot compresses with stones, heated grains, sand and salt compresses, Horme (herbal oil compress), deep tissue points, cupping, gentle moxibustion and joint mobilization.

We offer specific Kunye Massage and Therapies for various health issues: mental health, pain relief, muscle tension, recent injuries and inflammation, prenatal, organ function and digestive problems. We also provide a general relaxation Kunye massage, that works with the whole body and is famous for preventing disease, balancing your elements and bringing you back to a perfectly relaxed state of mindfulness. We offer Kunye Massage in our offices in the San Francisco Bay Area and Boulder, Colorado.

Holistic Health Consultations

Discover how to naturally improve your health condition with personalized coaching on your diet and lifestyle combined with supportive therapies from certified Traditional Tibetan Medicine practitioners.

We offer 2 types of consultations – onsite and online. Onsite consultations are held in our offices in the San Francisco Bay Area, Boulder, Colorado or if necessary, at your place.

A thorough health interview is the base of every consultation. Over approximately one hour we review your complete health history to see what types of imbalances you have and what caused them. For in person consultations we also do urine and pulse analysis for a deeper understanding.

Tibetan Medicine is not a one-size-fits all approach. Keeping in mind your age, constitution, environment, season, diet, lifestyle and other causes that lead to the imbalances causing you discomfort, we come up with a personalized holistic health plan that effectively works with your unique situation.

Focusing on diet and lifestyle we try to limit the need for extra supplements, so your system gradually and naturally heals itself. In some cases we also recommend traditional herbal supplements and in-person consultations include essential Kunye Therapies. It is not immediate and takes time, consistency and mindfulness, but the result is truly worth it – a naturally healthy and joyful life. We offer a free 15-minute assessment for online consultations via skype. Please keep in mind that for more concerning issues it is most appropriate to consult on-site.

I have practiced Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for over thirty years. Throughout that time I dabbled in Tibetan Medicine. In later years I was fortunate enough to study with a qualified Tibetan Physician, Dr. Kalsang Wangyal. I highly recommend Tibetan Medicine for anyone seeking a traditional, holistic system of medicine.

Yantra Yoga

Get free from tensions, relax your mind and bring health, harmony and joy to your life with this unique Tibetan yoga experience.

As Workshops Manager for all 9 Yoga Tree locations I was privileged to work with the best in the industry. Fabio Andrico and Shang Shung Institutes Yantra Yoga courses and training are some of my favorite to work with. Students were always eager to report the benefits they experienced from this work. The teachings and lineage that is conveyed with this work is palpable, and it is an honor to be one of the few US homes to this practice currently. I am confident Yantra Yoga will be growing rapidly in the US the coming years.

Synchronizing every movement with conscious breathing we find ourselves in a perfectly relaxed state. In Yantra Yoga asanas you will find similarities to the popular Hatha Yoga, but the primary focus is on mindfulness and breath, not the physical training of muscles and flexibility. Each yoga sequence performed in Yantra Yoga aims to guide the breath into a natural harmony with the mind and body.

One of the oldest recorded systems of Yoga that exists in the world, for centuries Yantra was a closely guarded secret reserved for advanced yogic practitioners. In light of its universal benefits for humanity, Yantra Yoga was first introduced to the West in the 1970s by the famous Tibetan scholar and professor, Chögyal Namkhai Norbu.

At this time there are only 7 authorized Yantra Yoga instructors in the US, 2 of which live in California. We teach Yantra Yoga for adults and Kumar Kumari Yantra Yoga for kids in various venues – classes in yoga studios and local centers, health events, workplace wellness classes, festivals and more. If you are interested in getting familiar with this unique method or wish to organize an illuminating class at your studio or presentation at your event, we are happy to collaborate with you anywhere in the US.
